ACC November Wrap-Up

Boston College (7-5, 4-4 ACC): What a finish for the Eagles. BC went 4-0 in November and finished at 7-5 on the season. Freshman RB Williams filled in nicely for the injured Montel Harris and the Eagles have all but punched their ticket to a bowl.
 - November Grade: A

Clemson (6-6, 4-4 ACC): An average November for the Tigers. Going 2-2 on the month, Clemson beat #25 NC State but finished the season on a blowout loss to #18 South Carolina. The Tigers are still bowl eligible, but may be on the outside looking in.
 - November Grade: C+

Duke (3-9, 1-7 ACC): Not a good month for the Blue Devils, continuing the same trend all season. The Devils posted a 1-3 record for the month and ended the season on a 3 game skid. Coach David Cutcliffe has a lot of work to do in the offseason.
- November Grade: D

#21 Florida State (9-3, 6-2 ACC): Not a bad finish for the Seminoles, who went 3-1 in November. A big win against rival Florida (first since 2003) to close out the regular season and a little help from NC State's loss gave FSU a solid month overall. With the NCSU loss, Florida State will being playing next weekend for the ACC title.
- November Grade:  B+

Georgia Tech (6-6, 4-4 ACC): A lot of GT fans are left shaking their heads. The Yellow Jackets finished out November 1-3, losing to Miami, #22 Virginia Tech and UGA. Not the season GT was looking for.
- November Grade: D

Maryland (8-4, 5-3 ACC): Up and down month for the Terps. After a hot start to the season, the Terps complete November 2-2. Tough losses to #25 Florida State and Miami slowed down the Terrapin attack.
 - November Grade: C+

Miami (7-5, 5-3 ACC): Hot start to the month, only to lose two in a row, and their coach. 7-5 wont cut it in Miami and they showed that by firing Randy Shannon. The Hurricanes went 2-2 in November, losing to USF in overtime to close the regular season.
- November Grade: C

North Carolina (7-5, 4-4 ACC): Average finish for the Heels. Going 2-2 in November with home losses to #20 VT and NCSU made for a tough month. Overall, a fairly disappointing year for the Tar Heels considering their preseason expectations.
- November Grade:  C+

North Carolina State (8-4, 5-3 ACC): Rough finish for the Pack. After opening up the season 4-0, the Pack finishing November 2-2, most notably losing to Maryland on November 27 to end their ACC title hopes.

Week 13 Results: Quick Hits

Boston College 16 @ Syracuse 7
The Eagles continue their win streak and hold off Syracuse. Freshman RB Andre Williams rushed for 185 yards in place of the injured star Montel Harris. Williams came up big Saturday in the Carrier Dome, helping the Eagles to victory.

Virginia 7 @ #16 Virginia Tech 37
The Hokies took advantage of playing in front of their home crowd and extended their win streak to an impressive 10 games. VT jumped on UVA early and never looked back.

Univeristy of Southern Florida 23 @ Miami 20
Miami gets stunned at home by rival USF in overtime. The Hurricanes fall to 7-5 on the season with this tough loss.

Florida 7 @ #22 Florida State 31
A very impressive win for the Seminoles. The win marks the first time Florida State has beaten rival UF since 2003.

#23 North Carolina State 31 @ Maryland 38
Wild game in College Park to say the least. The Wolfpack jumped to an early 14-0 lead but gave up 28 unanswered points to the Terps. With the loss, the Wolfpack's ACC title game hopes were also lost.

UNC 24 @ Duke 19
A bittersweet win the the Tar Heels here. After such a high preseason ranking, the Heels finish the season 7-5. Duke played the Tar Heels to until the end, but UNC was able to walk away with the win.

#18 South Carolina 29 @ Clemson 7
Clemson has to be unhappy with this result. Although the Gamecocks have been on a roll this season and won the SEC East, Clemson would have liked to have played better at home against their rival. The Tigers are still bowl eligible at 6-6, but may be left out of the mix.

Wake Forest 34 @ Vanderbilt 13
The Demon Deacons end the 2010 campaign on a good note, snapping a nine game losing streak at Vanderbilt on Saturday.

Georgia Tech 34 @ University of Georgia 42
The defending ACC champions, GT, are left shaking their heads at the end of the 2010 regular season. What could have been a special season turned into GT picking up the pieces. A loss to rival UGA to end the season isn't what the Yellow Jackets were looking for.

Week 12 Preview

As the ACC schedule rolls into it's second to last week, we have some great match-ups to look forward to:

 Virgina @  Boston College
- Look for Boston College RB Montel Harris to have a big day on the ground. If BC can establish a solid run game, look for them to have the advantage in this match-up.

 Duke @  Georgia Tech
- We all know what GT is going to do on every play, the triple option, but the question is, can you stop it? If Duke can hold GT's rushing attack they may be able to sneak a win out of this weeks road test.

 #16 Virginia Tech @  #24 Miami
- Big time ACC match-up this weekend in South Beach. Miami's starting QB Harris is still out so it's up to Freshman Stephen Morris to step up to the plate. A solid game from him and Miami's got a chance.

North Carolina State @  North Carolina
- Numbers go out the window when it comes to this rivalry. These two teams always come out strong and fired up for their annual meeting. There's no telling which side will take this game but the QB match-up between TJ Yates and Russell Wilson is vital. Whichever QB plays better should decide the outcome.

 Clemson @  Wake Forest
- Wake is having a very rough season and Clemson is looking to avenge a loss last week to FSU. Clemson QB Kyle Parker should have a field day against Wake's shaky D.

 #25 Florida State @  Maryland
- Important Coastal Division game in College Park Saturday night. Each team must win for their title hopes to remain intact. FSU's defense in key in this game as Maryland has potent passing and rushing attacks.
